Iran’s cement output grows 8 percent

Iran produced over 66.4 million tons of cement last year, which ended on March 19, showing an 8 percent rise compared with the previous year, IRNA news agency reported.

Iran cement exports up 17 percent

Iran exported over 9.3 million tons of cement in the first eleven months of this year (ends on March 19), marking a 17 percent rise on the same period last year, IRNA news agency reported.
 
Exports of clinker, a prerequisite to cement, stood at 1.5 million tons in the same period of time.

Ciment Français to transfer Afyon Çimento shares to CIMSA

Following the announcement that Ciments Français plans to sell its shareholding in the Turkish cement company, Afyon Çimento Sanayii Turk A.S., a share purchase agreement has been executed. The agreement, which has been reached with CIMSA, involves the sale of 51% of the share capital, a total nominal value of TL1 530 000.

India:Cement consumption likely to grow by 6.5%

All-India cement consumption is expected to grow by 6.5% in FY12E against 4.4% in FY11 and 10.2% in FY10. The dispatches grew 7% during April 2011-January 2012 mainly led by 15% YoY growth during Nov-Jan. The demand picked up during the period mainly on account of low base and increase in offtake from construction activities post monsoon.

Armenia:Cement export increases 2.5 times

Last year 98 tons of cement was exported from Armenia which is 2.5 times more than in 2010, the State Revenue Committee says.

Cement is exported for $64 per ton. There is not any significant change in price as compared to last year.
